Our Mission Summary

Cooperative Action is a nonprofit organization that uses an interactive website to allow people to participate in petitions, boycotts, and actions regarding a broad range of commonly agreed upon issues, such as health care costs, global warming and so on. When enough people participate, a ‘critical mass’ or ‘tipping point’ will be reached that will create pressure on politicians and corporations to act to address and solve these issues. This process does not advocate for exactly how these issues should or should not be solved, but rather it compels politicians and corporations to work together to find complete solutions to these commonly agreed upon issues. This process happens in a cooperative, respectful, objective, secular, non-partisan way that is geared towards raising the quality of communication, facilitating inclusion of participants that hold diverse views, and educating in an unbiased, straight forward way.

Our Pledge to You and All of Our Participants
  • To give participants a single place to involve themselves in many issues with little time/effort
  • To give individuals a sense of ownership, involvement, and interaction with one another via the site through feedback mechanisms, debate via forums, etc.
  • To display cumulative participation of individuals and results of their actions
  • To allow a range of required participation: from minimal, non-invasive participation to robust, extended participation
  • To allow participation without little or no requests for donations
  • To allow participation in the following ways:
    • corporate/political petition: people numbers, financial impact
    • corporate boycott
    • political non-vote petition
    • thank you notes for participating
    • personal actions/pledge
